Jogjakarta, The increase in fuel prices is the only solution to prevent the budget deficit the State, said former Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
"The increase in the price of fuel oil (BBM) can reduce the government budget subsidies," he said on the sidelines of an international seminar on sustainable innovation Sportorium Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University (UMY) on Monday.
According to him, there is no other way that could reduce or prevent the subsidy budget deficit in the State Budget (Budget) in addition to raising the price of fuel oil (BBM).
"The policy of the fuel price hike has been repeatedly applied by the government, including the compensation provided for in the form of direct cash assistance (BLT)," he said.
He said, in a state of rising fuel prices which has several times applied, there is no perceived excessive turbulence.
"We wait for the government alone, waiting times increased. Government had promised to raise, so we wait, as well as compensation, it has repeatedly run the government for 10 years has raised fuel prices seven times," said Kalla.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central Executive (PP) Muhammadiyah Din Syamsudin said it disagreed with the government's plan to hike fuel prices as of 1 April 2012.
"The increase in fuel prices is a policy that would complicate the people, so we do not agree," he said.
According to him, the rise in fuel prices will trigger a rise in food prices which will then impact on the lives of ordinary distress.
In addition, he said, there are laws (the Act) which was considered discriminatory against the people. Therefore, the Muhammadiyah in the near future will file a "judicial review" to the Constitutional Court (MK).
"We will file a` judicial review 'of the oil and gas law and other laws in economics such as mineral, geothermal, and investments by rating Muhammadiyah has the potential to sell on foreign soil and water, "he said.
He said, Muhammadiyah has prepared a "judicial review", because of rising fuel prices is not a wise decision, where an increase in the growth direction of capitalistic economy.
"I myself will take him to the Court and the Court wished to see clearly the law that defends people's needs and the nation. If the fuel price increases could not be reversed again, meaning the government would not listen to the voice of the people," he said.
He said the fuel price increase can essentially be avoided and will not be an option if the government is properly managing and implementing the national strategy of oil and trade.
"The oil should be produced because Indonesia has a relatively large deposit, for years the government maintained the production capability of 900,000 barrels per day or less, while the national requirement of about 1.250 million barrels," he said.
So, he said, there are approximately 350,000 barrels per day to be purchased. It then encourages the purchase transaction that was allegedly not transparent.
"In this regard, increased fuel prices on the pretext of reducing or diverting subsidies. It was only a camouflage," said Din
